I will be posting Christmas season outfit inspiration Mon, Tues, Wed, and Thurs of this week (with Where Bloggers Live on Fri). Come back tomorrow for more outfit ideas.
See the first Christmas season outfit post here.
Red and black is probably the most classic color combination for the Christmas season, and it's one that I wear quite a bit. While red and black is a timeless choice for a Christmas Day outfit, it's also fun to wear these colors in the lead up to the day. Note that "red" doesn't have to mean just true holly red....you can vary the shade to red-orange, brick red, maroon, etc. Wear red and black in solid and/or print pieces, alone or with other colors too (I like it a lot with white). Use red as a dominant color or as a pop of color against a neutral background. Incorporate seasonal textures like suede, velvet, faux fur, tweed, leather, and sweater knits...or not. Go all-in with touches of green and/or Christmas motif prints/jewelry or keep the nod to the season more subtle.
Here are 16 more outfits from my previous OOTD, this time with red pants, dresses, skirts, or accessories suitable across a range of temperatures/weather and occasions for some Christmas season outfit inspiration. (Of course this color combination works outside the holiday season, too...so pin any outfits for future inspiration.)
Do you wear red more in clothing, accessories, both, or neither? What is your favorite shade of red?

I have been wearing a little more red this month. I tend to wait until Christmas week and then don't get to wear a couple of Christmas-y sweaters more than once. So I'm determined to just wear them all month!
I love all these outfits! You have a fabulous collection of scarves. Thanks for linking up!

I love how you take basics like black/white/red and combine them in so many different ways to create fanciful outfits! You have such a way with prints, Sally!

I like how the red clothing pieces and accessories bring a sense of fun to the outfits that feature black as the background color. Well done! Thank you for sharing this post in the Talent-Sharing Tuesdays Link-Up 44.

I just love the looks you put together with red and black Sally. And really, you wouldn't necessarily think holiday outfit with any of them. That's exactly why I love them. XOOX Jodie
